The New Academic Building at St. Mary’s College consists of a new 53,000 s.f., two story structure. The New Academic Building is located northwest of the new Somerset Hall expansion and north of Schaeffer Hall on the St. Mary’s College of Maryland campus located in St. Mary’s City, Maryland. The building includes classrooms, lecture hall and office space associated with the consolidation of the psychology and chemistry departments. Basement spaces will accommodate animal holding areas. Attic level penthouses are provided above the north and south wings to accommodate primary mechanical equipment.

The design of this building is intended to qualify for a LEED Silver Certification with the Green Building Council.
